Fall is coming...

Because I did not post yesterday, I feel like I've been neglecting this blog and kinda owe it another post. So here goes-- not going to lie, I have been pretty boring lately. I just started doing some labwork today, just to earn a some $$$ before school gets started. Just a heads up, the money earned during this next week will most likely contribute toward my shopping addiction. I even bought a pair of shoes from ASOS.com just 10 minutes ago for only $23 CAD! So not a bad deal!
Anyway, today, Edmonton is freeeeezing compared to the normal 25ºC weather I'm so fond of (it's around 10ºC I'm assuming). I absolutely dread the -30ºC winters here. I hate having to bundle up in five million layers to walk around campus. And not only that, I become as pale as a ghost! Right now, I can only dream of warm knits, scarves, tuques, and boooooots! Also, I need a new backpack. Any suggestions?

Carven

Out of all the recent collections on Vogue.com, I'd have to say that the Carven Resort 2012 Runway is my absolute favorite. I'm in love with the bow-tie sandals and just the overall look and feel of the whole collection. I would die to wear any of these outfits! How great are the colours?!

Open Your Eyes

Over the course of my High School career, I never tried my best. It was always just about getting by and studying the day before to get that 80%. Now that I'm going into University, I don't think procrastination will be a very good habit to keep. Unfortunately I always say this and I never change a thing about how I study or when I study. I don't want to learn the hard way because that will involve me failing a few courses which cannot happen. I might be overreacting a little but thats better than not caring at all. It's a different ball game now. I pay for my education now and every course I don't pass is a waste of my time and money. All in all, I think its time for me to grow up and be an adult about my education. High School was a joke and I never gave a damn about it but this isn't some game anymore. This is my career and if I want one, I definitely can't just sit back and watch it unfold. As I ponder more about my future, here is a look that was inspired by my Italy trip. The shirt is from a store called The End, the pants are from Top Men, which I tailored and the shoes are from Kolby. I hope you enjoy!

Photobombing at its best

Okay, so I know I've been posting like crazy, but I can't help it. I have way too much time on my hands at the moment (boss isn't here...shh), which allows for much more internet lurking. Trust me though, the number of blog posts will most likely decrease exponentially once school gets on its way. Anyway, I've been lurking twitter alot, and came upon Ken Jeong's twitter. I should mention right now that I am in loooove with both Ken Jeong and the NBC show Community. My brother and I can probably quote any episode (that's how much we watch it). A little embarrassing, yes, but really, if you haven't already seen an episode, I do recommend that you check it out. It's probably my most favorite comedy series to date. Anyway, back to Ken Jeong. I happened to stumble upon his blog and found this hilaaaarious post in titled "Ken Jeong Photobombs Kate Upton in GQ’s Slim Corduroy Pants Fashion Shoot."

I just watched a 15 minute video on how to create your own skirt on etsy's livestream.

It featured author Brett Bara of Sewing in a Straight Line and has really got me thinking of things I can do with my own sewing machine! The project itself looks simple enough, I just need to think of what fabrics I want to use!

Some summer fun

Here is a late night post to sum up the day! I probably should be sleeping by now, and considering how I always get tired by 11, I'm not quite sure why I'm still awake. Anyway, today was one of those days which really made it feel like summer for me. I woke up, went to dim sum (a little sick of Chinese food at the moment), and then met up with some friends at a Second Cup on Whyte Ave. It was actually really great catching up with everyone, especially with a friend who has come to visit from Japan!
Then after that, we managed to watch The Rise of the Planet of the Apes with James Franco (I absolutely adore him!), which I found to be thoroughly entertaining. What did you guys think? Annnnd then after that, we went to Hudson's for some Nachos! Aren't I just fantastic at telling stories? (I'm not being sarcastic AT ALL).
Anyway, aside from the fact that I have failed to make a fun day sound anything but fun, I hope everyone had a great weekend! And if you're a student, I hope you are getting ready for the new school year!

Show and tell

So I have a couple of things to share today! First thing would be my purchases from yesterday, and second would be pictures from brunch this morning!
I should note that we went to lunch at a lovely restaurant called B's Diner farther down Whyte Avenue (close to A&W past the train tracks--I have no address at the moment). It actually is a really cute place with fantastic service and not to mention, grreeaaat food (and prices)! It's only been open for 2 weeks or so, and they are open Wed to Sun usually from breakfast to dinner hours, so if you have the chance, do stop by!

Also, I went shopping again today with a friend--I bought a bag on sale for $19.99 (originally $144.00) at Urban Outfitters and a black tank top for $7.00 at H&M. They're fantastic.
