I have a few hours to waste...

I am currently sitting in a large, wooded social hall, being bored so I decided to write a blog post about yesterday. I have a couple hours (by a couple, I mean 4 hours) before I have to stand by my poster and talk about my summer job (that's the gist of it), so before I get started on some Chemistry homework, I'll just do this. It's much more fun. And thank goodness I have wifi.

Anyway, yesterday. Went to sleep at 1:00 in the morning, woke up at 3:00 to go to the airport (I was quite the grump, as you could imagine), flew to Denver, layover, and then made it to San José by 1:00 PM. It also helped that I don't remember the flights because I just passed out. It's great being able to sleep on planes. Soo, as soon as Mother and I dropped off our baggage at the hotel and what not, we immediately went shopping. We hit up Nordstrom first, and then wandered down Santana Row for a bit. All that took maybe 5 hours. And surprisingly, we didn't buy that much. I only bought a long cardi from Nordstrom and an organic skirt from... I seriously can't remember the store name. All I know is that it's new and it's on Santana Row. Here are some photos to round things off.

Paddling Out

Quick post before I have to do some work. Alyssa is in San Diego at the moment (jealous) and I don't think we will get around to taking pictures this weekend.On another note, I bought a hat online a few weeks back and it arrived this week. I've been wearing it a lot because it's the only hat I have right now. I don't wear hats often at all but I thought it was time to try something new. The store I bought it from is called ONLY. This company is from New York and although the hats are a little bit pricey to ship to Canada, they have a really nice selection.

I'm going to try Alyssa's set up for tagging the clothing, making it easier for everyone to see. I've been a little hesitant to do so but it's time to change it up. The socks were generously given to me by Daddy Longlegz and I would like to thank them for the comfortable and colourful socks!

Pokemon Safari Zone

I've had a few hours of sleep (but it's helped that I completely passed out on the plane to Denver), look like a complete mess (I didn't even bother touching my hair this morning), and am currently waiting for our flight to San Jose in just about two hours. I'm excited to say the least. Apparently its around 20ºC there, and I cannot wait to see, well, no snow.

Anyway, I should be working on my stupid chemistry post-lab, but I'd rather do this. And I'd rather be pinning away. Pinterest is great. So, I'm just going to share some outfit photos I didn't have time to put up this week. Looking at the snow is a little depressing, but at least I'm wearing leopard-print leggings. T says I look like a stripper with them on. He obvz doesn't understand fashun. Sigh, boys.

PS: Anybody remember the Pokemon Safari?! That's where I caught my Scyther, which I then evolved into Scizor, and loved it with my entire 8-year-old heart. Good times, Pokemon Silver. Oh, and I only mention safaris because of my leggings, dur.
PPS: I bought the rather large t-shirt below from a men's store a while ago. I have no idea what the guy selling it to me was thinking, but hey, it's much cheaper than dishing out a hundred bucks for a female version.

Teleport 2 Me

Alyssa and I went to the opening show for the Western Canada Fashion Week and we had a blast. It was great to finally meet other bloggers from Edmonton! Alyssa and I never really thought that we would be invited to these events but it's an honour to attend. We will be going to WCFW April 4th to the 5th so if you are going, let us know!

I just finished my last midterm yesterday at 6pm and I'm pretty happy. Unfortunately finals are in 2 weeks so I cannot get too comfortable and will be posting irregularly until the end of April. Alyssa on the other hand, is just a machine, cracking out post after post. I don't know how she does it! Respect.

Summer really needs to hurry up. I'm sure y'all are tired of hearing Alyssa and I complain constantly about the weather. I am too. This outfit would be great for a nice spring day but it is still a little chilly here. The jacket by 5cm is great for the transition from winter to spring. It can either be worn alone or layered, making it versatile. I bought it at a store called I.T. in Hong Kong a while back. It is basically a mini department store for specialty brands and the store itself was very nice. The cardigan I bought from Holt Renfrew, by Modern Amusement, jeans are Naked and Famous, and the shoes are John Varvatos Converse Chukka's.

Latest obsessions: pinterest, printed leggings, and pastels

I decided yesterday that I wanted to start pinning things, because all the cool kids are doing it and I've always aspirated to be one of them... just kidding. Pity party aside, I'm now addicted to Pinterest. I'm not sure if you've noticed the general trend involving me and new projects, but yes, I do get obsessed quite easily. This obsession usually doesn't last too long, mind you. But who knows, Pinterest is such an easy way to keep track of cool shit I will never remember. So, if you're a pinner and know what you're doing, you can see what I've been up to on Pinterest. Fair warning, I've pinned maybe a bit too much since yesterday.

Anyway, funny story about me and blazers. Okay, before I get ahead of myself, I'll let you know that this story isn't actually funny, and that I cannot tell stories to save my life. So, continuing on. I have a very irrational fear that my shoulders are much too wide (irrational in that my shoulders are pretty insignificant in the list of worldly worries). So, if blazers have shoulder pads, I won't even touch them. But, for some reason, I broke this rule when I was a youngly sprout in high school and bought a black Vera Moda blazer WITH shoulder pads. I only wore them once! So, not too long ago, I decided to take out these shoulder pads. The problem was that these shoulder pads were sewn into the jacket and were underneath the lining (I don't even know if I'm explaining this correctly or using the proper terminology). So, since I thought I was nifty and all, I cut through the lining and took out the shoulder pads. Now I have a blazer with two cuts in the lining right where the shoulder pads used to be. Problem solved, right?

Okay, so that story really wasn't quite as hilarious as I thought it was going to be, and I probably just ended up wasting your time. Sigh. Oh, and you can win the bag below (in different colours too, if you like) in the giveaway here.

Sample sales part 2

Okay, lo and behold the handful of things I managed to pick up at a groovy sample sale I never new existed until a few days ago. Also, just give me a couple minutes to catch you up on some cool things going on in the life of me (just kidding, they're not that cool). For those who I haven't stressed this enough to, this week is going to be one heck of a busy week. I could complain some more, but I guess complaining only gets me so far. Anyway, this Friday, I'll be heading out to sunny California for the weekend! I can hardly wait for the weather, and not to mention the shopping. I swear daydreaming about Cali takes up all my time. My oh my.

Also, I really should be writing my paper. And studying for my lab exam. Hence why this weekend is so swamped. Sighhhh. And lately, all I've been wanting to do is travel somewhere and live the life of an adventurer just like I had imagined when I was a kid. Okay, maybe not an adventurer, because I'd probably be one of the most useless people in the wild. But for cereal, I've been so impatient to finish my undergrad. One more year after this!

I LOVE maxi skirts

I can say with confidence that maxi skirts are one of my favourite things on earth. Not only do they make you feel like a Disney princess, they also are so much fun to just twirl around in, y'know (princess stuff, right?). So, when I got this maxi skirt from LOVE, I was too excited to pull it out. Wearing it is like wearing a piece of cloud, or heaven. I can't wait for summer so that I can pull out this darling thing and wear it days on end. T, you better get used to these.

Also, Goodnight Macaroon has obtained some new stock, which I was so lucky to receive some items from. All I can say is that Goodnight Macaroon is the bomb diggity. Yeah, I just said that.

Anyway, since it's the weekend n' all, I hope you guys are having a great time, whether it be studying or just hangin' around. Also, if you're somewhere where the weather is nice, sunny, and above 0ºC, please soak up as much sun as possible for me. The return of winter is slightly depressing. When will I ever be able to ditch jackets and wear beloved maxi skirts?!
