Before I left for my trip, I told my family that I would be visiting Salvation Mountain, to which they responded with inquisitive glances and confused stares. Was it actually a mountain? Would I find salvation? Was this a code name for some weird strip club? And when I showed them Google’s top picks for images of Salvation Mountain, they were even more confused as to why I would drive four hours to visit some strange structure that was most likely dirty and just really, really weird. But alas, Salvation Mountain is a place that I, along with almost every other Instagram user out there, have always dreamt of visiting. I mean, who wouldn’t want to experience the exquisite grandeur of a man-made mountain that took over 100,000 gallons of paint to perfect? Especially while wearing an outfit that could pass as pyjamas? So yeah, thanks Expedia for making this girl’s dream come true and for providing Dani and I a bright blue car so we can never not see where we parked our car.
Anyway, for a better glimpse of what Salvation Mountain had to offer (other than a lot of sweating), check out part 1 of my LA travel vlog below.
